Hunger affects thousands of our Westmoreland County neighbors each and every day. You may not realize who struggles with hunger, but it may be a family member, a friend, or even a co-worker. This fall, join The Westmoreland County Food Bank (WCFB) as we shine the orange light on hunger to raise awareness for food insecurity in our community.
September is nationally recognized as Hunger Action Month™, when Feeding America food banks, including WCFB, take action to fight hunger in the community all month long. Whether it’s by advocating and raising awareness, making a donation, or volunteering, everyone can do their part to make a difference during Hunger Action Month.
So how can you help? It’s really simple! Pick something that works for your place of business or organization and let us know about it. The Westmoreland County Food Bank will publicize your involvement in Hunger Action Month throughout September.

Other activities might include organizing a volunteer event for your group at WCFB, hosting a food drive at your place of business, coordinating a special event/designate proceeds to benefit the Food Bank, and more – the sky’s the limit! For some additional inspiration, see “30 Ways in 30 Days” calendar below that has a variety of ideas for you to consider.
