September is nationally recognized as Hunger Action Month™ when Feeding America food banks, including the Westmoreland County Food Bank (WCFB), take action to fight hunger in the community all month long. Whether it’s by advocating and raising awareness, making a donation, or volunteering, everyone can do their part to make a difference during Hunger Action Month (HAM). This year, as WCFB observes Hunger Action Month, the agency is also commemorating 35 years of fighting hunger in Westmoreland County.

To mark this milestone, not only will the Food Bank be promoting traditional HAM activities, but also hosting a special event – Sip, Sample & Savor. The Westmoreland County Food Bank is modifying our Annual Partnership Luncheon to showcase local dining establishments and food and drink vendors to provide a taste of what Westmoreland County has to offer. In addition to moving the event to early evening, WCFB will highlight all of our programs/services and recognize the outstanding agency, partner, and donor of the year.

In addition to Sip, Sample & Savor, you might consider other Hunger Action Month activities like organizing a volunteer event for your group at WCFB, hosting a food drive at your place of business, coordinating a special event/designate proceeds to benefit the Food Bank, and more.
