Food banks and food pantries are partners in the same mission but they are not the same thing. A food bank is a warehouse/distribution center that sources food to be supplied to partner food pantries. Those partner food pantries located throughout the community distribute the food to those in need. Feeding America defines them best here.

We accept walk-in donations at our Delmont office Monday-Friday between 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. If you have a large donation that will require assistance unloading, please come before 3:00 PM when the warehouse is still open. For more information, click here.

The fastest way is to make a donation online here and click the checkbox next to “Dedicate this gift”. Complete the fields that appear after. If you would like the Food Bank to send a letter of acknowledgement to the individual/family, please complete the recipient name and mailing address section and we will notify the individual by USPS that you made a donation. You can also send an email for immediate receipt of your gift.
As a second option, you can mail a check to our mailing address listed below. When mailing a check for this purpose, please include a note/letter with the check indicating that the gift is memorial or honorary gift. Include the name of the individual and the name and address to whom we should send a letter of acknowledgement.

Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry mandates that no one under the age of 14 is permitted in a warehouse setting. There are occasional opportunities that allow younger volunteers in a separate space in our facility.
The Food Bank has other volunteer activities outside of our warehouse and the ages for each of those events varies. You can see all opportunities, sign the volunteer waiver, and sign up to volunteer here.
At this time we cannot accept donations of pet food.
Yes, we can. Give us a call at 1-800-462-2080 ext. 33 or 11 and we will go through the application process with you over the phone and submit the application on your behalf.
