Steelers and Westmoreland County Food Bank to Host “Grab & Go Fresh Express” Food Distribution
The Pittsburgh Steelers and Westmoreland County Food Bank will team up to host “Grab & Go Fresh Express,” a food distribution to support the Westmoreland community. The event, which is open to the public, will be held on Thursday, August 12, from 3:30-5:00 p.m. in the parking lot of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Latrobe.
Grab & Go Fresh Express will provide hundreds of meals to families in attendance. Steelers staff and alumni will serve as volunteers for the event.
“We are delighted that the Steelers continue to give back to the Westmoreland community. Fresh Express is such an awesome program and partnering with the Steelers organization makes it even better,” said Jennifer Miller, CEO of Westmoreland County Food Bank.

The Westmoreland County Food Bank serves over 7,000 unduplicated households each month. WCFB currently has 66 member agencies in their network of emergency feeding sites. Of those, 44 are food pantries in which low income consumers are able to access emergency food assistance throughout the month. Last year (2019), the Food Bank distributed over 7 million pounds of food. 50% of WCFB’s food comes from the federal and state governments and the remaining 50% from local donations, food drives, and Feeding America™
