John Pokomo of Monessen Salvation Army Food Pantry was recognized as June Volunteer of the Month for going above and beyond the call of duty. He oversees the delivery and receipt of the food, as well as, the distribution and storage of all Food Bank products. “His time and efforts allow our food pantry to run like a well-oiled machine,” stated Captain Susan Thwaite. John, also, provided the labor for improvements to the facility at Salvation Army. He built a pantry to store food, as well as, a new restroom on the top floor of the facility.
