George & Ellen Hockenberry, April 2018
George and Ellen Hockenberry of Mount Pleasant have volunteered for over 10 years with the Mount Pleasant Food Pantry. George was a former letter carrier and is very friendly and good with people, when he helps pack up the food boxes and deliver them to the senior high rises. He sometimes needs to create bags of food for those clients from the “Share” table. His wife Ellen helps, too, most of the time with paperwork at the pantry. It is people like George and Ellen that keep our pantries up and running. “Hardworking dedicated volunteers like them are greatly appreciated” said Pat and Marie, the pantry coordinators. WCFB presented the April Volunteer of the Month award to both of them.
